Room 237 is a Bristol Techno event, which over the years has developed an archive of shows which acts as a who’s-who of underground electronica. The past 10 years have seen them host some of the cities most memorable parties; from a pitch-black performance by Autechre in a disused skate park, to a groundbreaking showcase of Robert Henke’s Lumiére in a 1800’s riverside art gallery (and whilst we’re on the topic, who can forget DJ Surgeon’s Room 237 residency which took place in an underground prison complex beneath the city streets throughout 2014!?).
On March 19th 2022, they host Berlin-based icons Freddy K and Dr. Rubinstein in the ash-pits beneath the city’s train station, alongside local duo High Tech Soul, whose 25 years behind the decks meet at the undulating crossroads of electro, dub and techno.
In both celebration and anticipation, High Tech Soul have provided Trakqs with 100-strong playlist of rhythms which form the basis of their record bags for the event. From jacking broken beat electro through to pulsing atmospheric techno, this playlist will set the tone for parties both near and far into the future.
