An ominous sonic collage comprised of field recordings of indigenous Nu Guinea, where eerie organic atmospheres are placed alongside dark synth drones and tribal rhythms, to create an uneasily explorative journey through lands beyond the lens of urban society.
The record is peppered with segues of abstract, minimalist Techno, which is perhaps a dislocated reference to Black Merlin’s earlier work, which largely references the darker, gothic edges 80’s club music. The approach on ‘Kosua’ however, leans more towards the ‘sonic tourism’ concepts of Quiet American than it does the darkroom hedonism of his work for labels such as Pinkman or Mannequin.
